Michael Zumstein won a 4-year SNF Ambizione Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). This competitive funding scheme supports young researchers in conducting, managing, and leading an independent project. Together with Natalie Wichmann, who will join the group in Vienna as a Ph.D. student in February, Michael will explore extracellular hydrolases in wastewater and soil environments and assess their potential for pollutant biotransformation. The project is conducted in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag).
