18.10.2024

On October 8, over 200 guests attended the 12th edition of the Environment & Climate Hub discussion series "Umwelt im Gespräch" (Environment in Dialogue) in the Kuppelhalle of the Natural History Museum Vienna (NHM) to learn about and exchange views on the effects of climate change in the Alps.

The panel included glaciologist and climate researcher Georg Kaser (University of Innsbruck), Doris Hallama, Vice President for Huts and Trails at the Austrian Alpine Club, economic sociologist Valentina Ausserladscheider, and biodiversity researcher Stefan Dullinger (both from ECH, University of Vienna). Georg Kaser gave the keynote lecture on the topic "Climate Change is Here – What’s Next?". NHM Director General Katrin Vohland opened the event, followed by speeches from Vice-Rector of the University of Vienna Manuela Baccarini and ECH Co-Director Thilo Hofmann.
