Michael Zumstein has been a member of the Division of Environmental Science and Biogeochemistry (EDGE) since January 2021. His research focuses on the biotransformation and biodegradation of anthropogenic organic chemicals in natural and engineered systems. By applying advanced analytical chemical methods, his group investigates the kinetics and pathways of enzyme-catalysed reactions and characterizes key enzymes involved. These insights are essential for understanding the environmental fate of anthropogenic chemicals and informing solutions for a clean environment.
We warmly congratulate Michael on this achievement and look forward to his continued contributions to CeMESS and beyond!
