The award recognizes his significant contributions to environmental geochemistry, focusing on biogeochemical processes at the solid-aqueous interface, influencing the fate of contaminants using advanced analytical techniques such as synchrotron-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy and isotope fingerprinting.
After completing his research at EDGE, Naresh Kumar moved on to a professorship at the Wageningen University (The Netherlands). We are thrilled to see the success of a former postdoc and continue to collaborate with him. He is currently involved in projects on DNA preservation at mineral surfaces and on Cr contamination in soil and water collaborating with Stephan Kraemer.
