New publication in Geoderma: Small biochar particles hardly disintegrate under cryo-stress

In this study led by Gabriel Sigmund, in collaboration with colleagues from the Ithaka Institute for Carbon Strategies and Agroscope, the physical disintegration of biochar under cryo-stress (freeze thawing) was investigated. The results indicate that small biochar particles are more stable than previously assumed, which is good news for biochar stability in the environment.
