New Publication in Microplastics and Nanoplastics Explores Careers in Plastic Pollution Research
Plastic pollution is a wicked problem that will require stakeholders from many different backgrounds to solve.
In a new perspective paper that was inspired following a workshop for early career researchers in June 2022, Thorsten Hüffer from EDGE joined colleagues to highlight how ECRs can translate and appreciate their work in the context of interdisciplinary research and transdisciplinary solutions, and considerations needed for successful career development and advancement in different sectors. The paper also comments on how advisors can support ECRs in developing their careers and create working environments that are conducive to helping students acquire the mentality and skillsets for solving globalized problems.
